Project Description
The Anthropology + Technology Conference 2019 was founded by Anthropologist Dawn Walter from Mundy & Anson Ltd.
As a first-year event Dawn was looking for a strategic partner to help develop the design and structure of the conference, as well as managing the nuts and bolts of delivery.
Launching a new conference is a daunting task, especially if you’ve not done it before. Luckily for Dawn – it’s something we’re quite good at.
Over the course of six months we supported Dawn across the full event life-cycle, from designing and building the event website to operational management and delivery on the day.
Being a first year event we put a lot of effort into developing the processes and procedures that will put Dawn (and us!) in good stead for running the conference again in 2020.
Our specific tasks included:
- Design, build and maintenance of the conference website
- Development of the registration and ticketing platform
- Venue, AV and catering management
- Design and production of digital and print collateral and signage
- Speaker liaison
- Staff and volunteer management
Dawn Walter, Founder of the Anthropology + Technology Conference, had this to say:
“I hadn’t organised an event of this scale before so relied completely on Thomas’ expertise and experience. Having worked with Thomas, I couldn’t work with anyone else. He’s very organised, professional, dependable, nothing’s too much trouble, incredibly honest, huge integrity. What I most value about Thomas is that he was as invested in my conference as I was. I felt I was working with a partner rather than a contractor, and it showed: on the day the conference was expertly managed and run, which was commented on by my keynotes and delegates alike.“
